Copyright is a serious issue and taking an image or manipulating it without permission breaks copyright law.
All images taken by Sinclair Photography and displayed on this website are protected under copyright law and must not be copied.
Copyright protects the photographer from image "theft" (taking an image without paying for it). If you take an image without paying for it you are effectively stealing from us and using tat image without permission.
The images in ALL parts of this website are for viewing purposes only and show a low resolution version of the image. Unfortunately our images need to be watermarked. Watermarking an image damages its quality and obscures the full image. Unfortunately this is necessary. The message that is displayed is aimed at those who continually steal from our galleries and not our genuine customers. All purchased images have the watermark removed.
Watermarked images have a very clear message. If you take an image from this website without first paying for it you are breaking copyright laws and we class it as theft. For every image taken without permission we have the right to take action and charge you accordingly for the improper use of that image; so if you take an image without paying for it, please don't be horrified when you receive a bill or a legal letter (if you use the image in a commercial environment).
Pay the invoice and you will receive an un-watermarked digital file of the image taken in exchange.
Failure to pay within 7 days will result in further action being taken and we will report you to the social/photo media website concerned in line with the breech in their terms and conditions.
Your details will also be passed to other event photographers along with screen shots showing those images you have taken from their websites as well where appropriate.
We do not want watermarked images used as free advertising.
Please respect our work - if you don't we will simply stop photographing you.
Permission is NOT goven for digital images to be passed to a 3rd party for "EDITS" - in most cases Sinclair Photography can do edit work for you using the original full resolution image - an additional fee maybe required. When you purchase an image
When you purchase an image, if a print is purchased we will email you the digital file.
You are only buying a licence for that one image or digital file.
You buy an image for private use only. It does not buy you the copyright which remains the property of Sinclair Photography at all times.
If you wish to use the image in a commercial environment an additional fee will be required in line with the image use.
You are not allowed to copy a printed image or use it for anything else without permission. This includes taking a photograph of it with another device (eg camera phone), or using the image for entering competitions, for sale adverts or using it for promotional work etc, without the permission of Sinclair Photography. An additional fee maybe reauired in these circumstances.
If unsure please ask - it's a simple courtesy.
All print images are now supplied with their small digital jpeg files for PRIVATE use. These images are intended for on line use only and are not suitable for printing. Taking prints from them breeches copyright. When using images on line credit must be given to www.sinclairphotography.co.uk where appropriate.
Images are occasionally printed on anti scan paper - we will not replace damage caused by scanning an image.
When purchasing an image the digital file is for PRIVATE USE ONLY - if you wish to forward the image to a magazine or use it as part of a publication the publication MUST contact Sinclair Photography in advance if they wish to use the image. In most cases the image quality will be too low for a magazine to use so they will need to purchase a better quality version of the image.
An aditional fee will be required in most circumstances.
