Sinclair Photography was born out of a need for me to scratch an itch that started in the 90's. I'm but one man with a passion for photography, working throughout the central belt of Scotland and occasionally beyond.
If there's a camera in the room you'll find me hiding behind it. I'm very camera shy!
Having your picture taken is like Marmite - you either love it or you hate it. I love the moment when someone realises they're being photographed. Their reaction is priceless and one of the reasons why I love photography so much. With my main "bread and butter" being animal photography, I find most animals (including the occasional human) seem to be inquisitive enough to love it too ... which is pretty handy.
My passion for photography started in the 70's with my mums Kodak 100 instamatic. Many hours were spent blinding myself with the little cubed flash bulbs. In the 80's I graduated to an SLR in the form of a Praktica MTL 5B. I seemed to develop a knack for capturing people in "awkward" situations. It was during this time I had my 1st real encounter with a horse. I got bitten!
In the 90's I went to Sunderland University and studied Visual Information Design. The only person with a "proper camera", I'd regularly find myself in the dark room fumbling about. My love for all things "animal" can be partly blamed on my wife. Her addiction to horses is alarming and very infectious. I find animals tend to gravitate towards me which is also pretty handy. Our family contains 1 horse, 2 ponies, 2 dogs, a cat and 9 fish. We're considering chickens.
Somewhere along the line I stopped using my trusty Praktica and picked up an "instamatic" digital camera. I loved it! This was dropped (actually I ran it over) and I quickly developed a love for Canon - which I use to this day. I still have the Praktica.
So, if you love horses, have a pet that loves posing, want to capture an event you're holding or just need some photos taken, get in touch.
Update
As well as being fully disclosure Scotland Checked to enhanced level I am now a fully trained first aider. Always handy when you consider I'm usually the only other person in the ring with the rider.
