Welcome to LoddiPots Photography.
The most important part of this journey through life is sharing it with the people we love the most. For me, the second most important thing is the photographs that help us remember those that we love when they are no longer on this journey with us. Photography is much more than a job or business for me, photographs of the people we love the most and remembering the times we spend with them will outlast any material thing that we have.
I am a proud mum to 6 amazing children, who are inspiring to me as I watch them grow. I am a wife, best friend, business partner and at times one half of a very average comedy act by way of being married to my amazing husband. My passion is photography, people and art - no matter which order they are in! To me, every day starts out as a blank canvas and allows me the gift of creating new memories for people to cherish and experiences for me to be a part of. This is the part of my job I love the most!
Some of my own life experiences have driven my passion of returning to photography and reminded me of how important recording fleeting moments and memories are for people. After losing my biggest supporter - my dad, when I was only in my early 20's I soon realised just how important photographs were for capturing memories. While I can still close my eyes and see him vividly, I only have a few images of him to share with my children who were born many years after he had left this earth. Only recently I said goodbye to my dear dear friend and cousin who left behind a young family including her young baby. By far the hardest photo shoot I have ever done was family portraits knowing that these would be the lasting memories for her husband and children. My life has been enriched by the work I have done with our Santa Studio every Christmas and taking photos of special needs children - donating profits to charities such as Bravehearts and Mater Little Miracles over the past 9 years.
I have worked in the photography industry for over 18 years, photographing everything from High End Weddings to Works of Art, Rugby League Matches to Rock Star's & Hollywood Celebrities. But the photography I have shot consistently and enjoyed the most is Family Portraiture. As a mum - creating and capturing lasting family images are the most important as I know how busy life can be and how quickly time can slip away. During my career I worked in one of Brisbane's Largest Photographic Studio's juggled study and motherhood and completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts and became Internationally Accredited in Portraiture Photography after studying at the New York Institute of Photography.
After having a hiatus and being a fulltime mum for a few years, the decision was made to start my own studio - my studio is custom designed for boutique photography, is climate controlled and is fitted out with state of the art lighting, high-end Canon Cameras and printing equipment, this ensures that you receive the best possible images from your photo sessions.
I hope this "About" section allows you to learn a bit more about me and my artistry, because this is the only part of my business where it is about me! Everything else I do - is all about you! I can't wait to meet you and learn about your life story and I look forward to the privilege of making memories for you - not just for this lifetime, but for your childrens lifetime and beyond!
