"My first dog was a Bassett hound. She regularly tripped over her ears!" I had several pets when growing up, but my fondest memory is of our Basset Hound Bassey and my Dad's use of washing pegs to hold her ears out of the way when on walks! Unfortunately they're just memories - I don't actually have any pictures of her, which makes me a little sad - especially in my line of work. In fact the only photograph I have of any of my childhood pets is a slightly blurry one of my goldfish "George". Memories are fine but a good photograph can eclipse a memory and can really stand the test of time. A photograph can evoke so many feelings and emotions. They allow you and others to relive the moment as if it was yesterday. Part of my expanding menagerie includes my 2 dogs - Biscuit (a Jack Russell) and Buddie (a Border Collie). Since they joined our family in early and mid 2009 I'm always shocked at how fast they've changed - both in size and personality. Like children, our pets change so quickly and before you know it, they're all "grow'd up". Many people miss this golden moment and have to consign it to a memory. Are you one of those people?
