Brian Houghton ARPS

My Photographic Journey started at the age of 14 joining the school Camera Club, once I saw my first image appearing in the developer all those years ago I new I was hooked!!

My passion is photographing People, their life, their relationships and their environment.

Over many years I have been lucky enough to have traveled to some amazing places in the world to photograph and document people.
My camera gives me a reason to travel whether it is deepest Africa or Just across the Road, but always I want to see the eyes, it is only then I know who I am photographing.

Welcome To Bootprintimages.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A fellow Photographer introduced me to
Alain de Botton's, The Art of Travel, The following words by him have inspred and intensified my Photographic Journey.

The pleasure we derive from journeys is perhaps dependent more on the mindset with which we travel than on the destination we travel to.
Journeys are the midwives of thought. Large thoughts at times requiring large views, new thoughts new places.

A dominant impulse on encountering beauty is to wish to hold on to it, to possess it and give it weight in one’s life.

There is an urge to say, ‘I was here, I saw this and it mattered to me.

By
Steve McCurry  -  If you wait,' people will forget your camera, and the Soul will drift up into view.

Inspired by Aristotle on Art -The
aim in my Photography is not only to present the outward appearance of images, but their inner significance.
