Newborns are by far my favourite subjects to Photograph. Time passes so quickly and capturing these early stages are so precious.  I want to capture those first moments when your baby still curls up and sleeps so soundly.  When babies nose and toes are still squishy and their bottoms are still crinkly!

When is the best time to photograph your new Bundle? Newborns are best photographed between 5-12 days new, after this time they don't settle as soundly and often begin to develop newborn pimples.  The curled up sleepy baby poses on my website are best achieved during this time.    If for any reason you are unable to make it to my Sunbury Studio during these early days, don't panic!  We will still be able to capture some gorgeous photo's of your baby and there are many examples of this in my Bundles gallery.

Why do you need to travel to The Garage Studio? I'm often asked why I wont travel for Newborn sessions; The main reason for this is 'control'.  In my studio I have control over the heating/cooling, lighting, props, and equipment, but primarily I have control over safety and Newborn Safety is of upmost importance to me.  Many of the images you see on my Facebook and Website pages are composite images, digitally enhanced for safety reason.  (If you choose an alternative photographer for your Newborn session, PLEASE ask about the safety precautions they take, and their experience)

How long will your session last?  Newborns are so unpredictable, I allow between 2-4hrs for a 'Bundle' session.  Please plan accordingly by bringing supplies and provisions for an extended visit.  

Yes, you do have to be included in the newborn session! I understand that in these first few weeks, you may not be feeling your most glamourous - however this is a precious time and in the future you will be so thankful to have been included in the newborn session.
(A little bit of Photoshop and camouflage goes a long way)

Big Brothers and Big Sisters are welcome, however.... in the first few weeks siblings are as unpredictable as newborns.  I can not guarantee success when these unique personalities are first getting to know each other.  However I am happy to try and have a number of poses that work with happy siblings!!  

Please remember to book your 'Bundle' session for your due date.  All effort is made to ensure that we can complete your session in those first precious days, but can not be guaranteed due to the unexpected nature of delivery.
