FAQ

When should I book my professional family photos?
Please contact me as soon as you start thinking of your family portraits, weekends are very popular, especially in spring. Please contact me 3-6 weeks prior to when you would like your photography session.

How long will the family photo shoot last?
Family portrait sessions take approx. 1 hour depending on how many people and the unpredictability of little children.

What should I bring?
With young children, it is a good idea to bring their favourite toy or book for comfort (plus it also tells a story about them at that age). You can also bring some snacks and water. For older children, you can bring surfboards, skateboards anything they are into at the time. If we are heading to the beach throw in some beach towels, and extra clothing for little people, as we might be getting wet.

What should I wear?
Please choose a style and colours that you like, simple yet fashionable, plain solid colours work well. - dark denim jeans for guys, Colour themes that compliment each other are a must for example Navy/Khaki: Beige/Cream: grey/pink: blue/green/white: black & white or choose one colour and wear a different shade for example Navy, denim, light blue, aqua, mixed with white.

Dress like the Royals. Don't worry this doesn't mean you have to wear a top hat or fascinator but if you look at the Royal family you will see that the colours/tones they wear always compliment each other.

If you can’t decide then the most important thing is they are plain solid colours with no patterns or visible licence trademarks like billabong, Hurley, Nike etc.

What happens if it rains?
If it is terrential rain we will reschedule your session. However, if its showers I take it on a case by case circumstance, so depending on your schedule we make an educated decision on the day. Weather can be unpredictable it can be raining in the morning but sunny in the afternoon. I generally don't make any decisions until a couple of hours before your session.

Families
Children can be unpredictable and take time to warm up. I like to capture the craziness of families and I will encourage your children to be where they need to be or chase them around capturing their energy. Children mirror their parents so relax and have fun, I want photographing your children to be a positive experience for them and build a rapport, the more relaxed you are the more successful the session will be. Some children will dig their heels in and refuse to be photographed, this is ok and I will not push them and ask parents to not push them either, I have lots of patience and find using different positive strategies work well.

Can my dog be a part of the session?
Yes, I love fur babies, some of my clients send “Rex” off to the pet parlour the day of the session so they are nice and fluffy for the photographs.

Do you offer payment plans? 
Yes! I offer lay-by style direct debit payment plans. You are welcome to start a payment plan before your session so you have "some money in the bank" when it comes time to choose your photographs, albums or wall art. You are also welcome to start a payment plan after your session, once you know what you would like to purchase.

Turn around - When will I get my photos?
Your photos will be ready to view 7-14 days after your session. We select your images together at your FREE design & ordering appointment. Your images will be ready to download via a password protected online gallery 7-14 days after you design & ordering appointment. Albums, wall art and products will take approx 4-6 weeks depending on the season.
